“No Room”, Marley Wildthing Shoots New Music Video
Sunday, January 12th
Marley: Hey, I hope you had a great holiday 🙂 Do you still want to be in the music video for No Room? It will be shot on 18.1., 14.00 to 17.00 max. 🙂
Me: Hi Marley, happy new year! I can be there if you need me 🙂
Marley: Super cool 🙂 I will let you know more soon!
Me: A thought, what if I made a little video report for my blog about you filming a new music video? Would you be up for that? I recently did this thing for a friend, it’s all done in my phone, so it’s not any spectacular quality but I think the content is fun and shareable 🙂
Marley: Hey, yeah that’s a great idea!! 🙂 Would you like to do it more like an interview afterwards? Or do you want to take some behind-the-scenes videos too?
Me: What I had in mind is to take a couple of shots at the actual shooting of your video and make some behind-the-scenes edit. And we can do an interview later. If you’re in, I don’t need much. But it would be great, to understand better, to have you tell me a little bit about your song.
Marley: The music itself is about wondering if someone has room for me in his life, or needs me only to kill time. The video is more about being okay without a relationship, being okay with past lovers and that none of those were “the one”. And that being alone can be freeing and good for oneself. Because at some point, we will always be alone and should be able to love ourselves without anyone’s approval.
Behind the Scenes
Marley Wildthing’s shooting of “No Room” took place last Saturday. For the first time, I got to see the premises of the Emmaus Monastery, I got to hang out with friends and meet some new cool people, I could see a professional filming crew in action while I was waving my borrowed video camera around, pretending I knew what I was doing.
And most importantly, I could witness a friend drawing from her passion and working hard to create something meaningful. I enjoy the genuine vibes of Marley’s music. It makes me feel hopeful and joyful. Before the music video comes out at the beginning of March, I will be back with the results of my camera waving and an interview with her, so stay tunned.
