Taking a Break from Alcohol – Inspiration of the Month

The quarantine is overrr! Restaurants and pubs are open again, so we can fearlessly head out there for a drink after a day spent in the office. Feels like I’m forgetting something. Oh, right. I just wrote this moving blog post about taking a break from alcohol for a month. Luckily I’m a big fan of malinovka and točená zmrzlina too. Hurray! If you are curious, “What’s that madness about ?”, read further as I make a summary of what happened on the blog in the last month and share my 3 tips for June.

Should I Drink Less?

should I drink less 1

“At the beginning of the quarantine, I started to indulge in having a glass or two of wine each day. In the months before the quarantine, I’d drink only when I went out. Not at home and not every day. ‘Should I drink less?’ I wondered.”

I started writing this post with a completely different idea in my head, but by the end of it, I realized that I’m taking a break from alcohol.

Tip #1: Join the Should I Drink Less? project

I’ve decided to do a dry June and I encourage you to join me in any way you find personally beneficial to you and/or write me about your relationship with alcohol before, during, and after quarantine.

I’ll share updates of my progress and your stories too, on my Facebook page. Looking forward to seeing you there and chatting about our experiences.

Marley is a Prague based singer/songwriter born in Austria. Recently, she released her new music video No Room, and here’s what happened behind the scenes. In the interview, Marley talks about becoming a musician and the lessons she’s learned along the way.

Tip #2: Visit Marley’s and her boyfriend Dušan’s Crowdfunding campaign for their new EP

By becoming a supporter, you’ll get one of their specials – the digital download of their EP,  they will teach you how to play Cajon, ukulele, or how to sing and many more.

3 StoriesThat Made My Day, May Edition

You answered the question, “What’s one nice thing someone did for you, told you or said about you today?”

The last three heart-warming stories of the Made My Day project, you shared with me. I enjoyed this project and am now moving on. Thanks to everyone who participated also in March and April!

Tip #3: Make a Day

Finally, my third tip is inspired by my friends who were saving their favorite pubs, restaurants, and breweries. You can check on a map if your favorite place is there and buy a voucher for consumption or some beer. And if, like me, you don’t drink in June, it can make for a great gift which will surely make someone’s day 😉
