Mentoring in Prague – Inspiration of the Month

In the last month, we looked at the topic of mentoring in Prague. Firstly, I shared with you my own experience, then we continued with an interview with an expert on the topic and her own experience. To sum up I gave you some pointers to where you can find a mentor. Here are an October summary and November tips for you to try out.

Tip #2: Find your Ikigai 

Ikigai is a Japanese concept that means “a reason for being”. 

When Kristin was restarting her career she used Ikigai as a tool to help her define a career direction that would make her happy. 

Ikigai refers to having a meaningful direction or purpose in life, constituting the sense of one’s life being made worthwhile, with actions taken towards achieving one’s ikigai resulting in satisfaction and a sense of meaning to life.

I was intrigued when Kristin mentioned this technique and tried it myself. It’s a fun exercise that can help you to define your personal perspective, by asking yourself four key questions, check it in this video:

Tip #3: Join an online event organized by the BCC

In the Guide to Finding a Mentor, I mentioned two English speaking mentoring programs under the auspices of BCC. But besides that, BCC offers many online events and webinars now, to entertain you in the comfort of your home. Try in November:
